ELGAR ANNIVERSARY LINKS

Edward Elgar, England’s best-loved composer, was born on 2nd June 1857. His 150th Anniversary was celebrated throughout 2007 by the inclusion of Elgar’s works in numerous concerts in Britain and abroad, and most particularly over the weekend Friday 1st - Sunday 3rd June.

In Elgar’s home county, Worcestershire, a weekend programme of talks, recitals and concerts was co-ordinated by the Elgar Birthplace Museum, dovetailing with CBSO concert performances of his three great oratorios at Symphony Hall in Birmingham.
